Youth & Family

Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.”

Many couples have come and stood before God to make their promises to Him and to one another. Then they depart–to seek a fortune, to build the perfect home, make the perfect life and raise the perfect family.

Truthfully, though, life isn’t a fairy tale. Even in a family-friendly place, the world is dangerous. The devil himself roams around in it. It comes even to our homes. Our homes, after all, are full of sinners. Couples have troubles. Raising children is hard, especially when you perceive them being dangerously drawn away by the influence of the world, or by some foreign worldview with beliefs that are strange to you.

Husbands and Dads, you have a huge responsibility. Wives and Moms, you have a lot to be concerned about. You’re not alone.

Concordia Lutheran Church is a Church Family, made up of individual families, coming together in a whole concert of vocations to support, encourage, and pray for one another.

It begins with worship, which is not just for women, and not just for Moms and Dads and big people. It’s for you and for your children. You learn to know your sin and to know Christ your Savior, and grow in faith toward Him and in fervent love toward one another.

It continues in the home, where you nourish Christian faith through meditation on the Word of God; and in the Sunday School, where you learn that the Bible’s stories are really about you and your relationship to your God; and in the Confirmation Classes, where you learn the Bible’s teachings in detail; and into young adulthood as you find opportunities to build friendships and strenthen them– not only through common interests, but common faith.

Every soul is precious. The whole Church comes together in support of each one. What’s really happening? The Lord builds the House. For direction for your faith and life, and for those you love, you are warmly invited to be part of it!
